Tuition due dates: For students paying by the session, tuition is due by the first class of each session. Class cards (available to adults/by permission) can be purchased anytime.

Payment information: Cash or check payable to Dance Factory (mail checks to: Dance Factory, PO Box 294 Chester, VT 05143), or via PayPal or Venmo at @dancefactoryvt

Late Fees: Any account that is not paid in full during the first week of the session will have a surcharge of $5.00 per class per week added to the balance every week until the account is paid in full. Any account that is not up to date will forfeit the right the perform in any production unless payment arrangements have been made.

Spring Recital costumes: Pricing for recital costumes varies, with an average of around $85 per costume. A deposit of $50 per costume is due in October.

The Nutcracker: There is a $30 cleaning fee for each costume worn in the production. There are no other fees to participate.

The Dance Factory's year, which runs September through May, is split into three 10-week sessions and culminates in a Spring Recital. Make-up classes in Ballet, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Modern are always available for students who miss classes during the session.

In the late spring and summer, we offer four-week mini-sessions in all styles, along with ongoing ballet, jazz, yoga, and fitness classes for students grade 7 through adult.

Our annual Nutcracker performances are held on the second weekend of December, with Sunday afternoon rehearsals starting in October. Our Spring Recital is held on the second Saturday in May, with a dress rehearsal during the week of the show.

Classes WILL NOT be held during Springfield school district vacations, on Memorial Day or July 4th.

Classes WILL be held on school conference days and teacher in-service days.

Classes MAY be cancelled if school is cancelled in Springfield due to weather or if there is a risk of dangerous travel. We will announce cancellations on Facebook and email a notice to our mailing list.

While the Dance Factory does not have a dress code, we ask you to dress appropriately with your hair securely tied back for safety.

Ballet students should wear leotard, tights, and ballet shoes. Skirts, shorts, and warm-up clothes are all acceptable.

Students in all other classes may wear clothing that you feel comfortable moving in and appropriate footwear (see below). Avoid very loose-fitting clothing that can be caught or tripped on.

Please do not wear outdoor shoes inside the studio. This helps us protect our studio floor.

Ballet students need ballet slippers
Tap students need tap shoes
Jazz students need soft-soled jazz shoes
Hip-hop students need a rubber-soled shoe. Dancers are also welcome to take class in bare feet
Modern students will practice barefoot
Yoga students will work barefoot
Ballet Fitness students can wear soft-soled ballet shoes, jazz shoes, or socks
Pointe students will by advised by their teacher when they are ready to purchase pointe shoes. (Students must be enrolled in two ballet classes a week in order to study pointe.)

If you have questions about which shoes to purchase, or where to purchase them, please ask your teacher.

We have a small rack of dance shoes for trade/borrow each semester. Students are welcome to use these shoes as needed. You may also leave shoes for others provided that they are in decent shape and free of holes. We ask you to help us keep this area clean!
