Pointe Variations

This pointe class for the seasoned dancer will explore two or three classical pointe
variations that build strength and technique and is highly encouraged for our advanced ballet students looking to stay strong over the summer.

What is Ballet Dance?

Ballet is a staple at the Dance Factory and our commitment to a sequential, inclusive, and safe curriculum allows all dancers to shine in this art form. Our students are also offered the opportunity to dance in a fully costumed, full-length performances of The Nutcracker every December, beginning as little Mother Goose and Mice and continuing to dance soloist roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen as they become more experienced.

Often the ballet world has made people feel like you need to fit a certain mold, but not at the Dance Factory. If you love ballet, there is a place for you at our studio! We offer ballet for our youngest dancers all the way through adults with multiple options throughout the week catered to all levels.

What is Tap Dance?

Dana leads our tap program at the studio and you can't help but smile when you see these classes in action!

We offer tap for elementary students through adults. Classes start with a warm-up at barre and progress to across-the-floor exercises and skill-building. You can find these tap dancers learning combinations to pop music, old school jazz, Broadway tunes, and even an occasional country song!

What is Jazz Dance?

Our jazz program is available to students in grades 2-adult. Classes explore lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater style-jazz throughout the year, with an emphasis on expression, character, and technique. Classes include a unison warm-up that focuses on placement and strength, increasingly challenging across the floor exercises, and fun combinations that allow students to explore the diversity of this great style.

Dancers who have a love of Broadway will have a blast in jazz classes!

What is Modern Dance?

Ashley teaches our modern classes, which are available for kindergarten students through adults. She blends technique, artistry, and expression in her classes while encouraging her students to see themselves as both dancers and choreographers. Dancers receive a strong foundation in floor work, developing a deeper understanding of alignment and support, learning combinations, and partnering while also getting many opportunities to share their own ideas, express themselves, and make choreography with their peers.
Many of our dancers love modern because we dance with bare feet!

What is Hip Hop?

Our hip hop classes are the perfect mix of working hard and having fun. Students develop a more thorough understanding of their bodies through isolations, strength-building, and skill-building. Classes often include breakdancing fundamentals along with exploring different elements of hip hop dance through playful and energetic choreography. Students are also given opportunities to explore their own skills as choreographers through improvisation and working with peers to co-choreograph.
